Peppermint Patty has had a rough time lately.  She was originally turned in as a stray to an animal shelter.  Her owner found out she was there and came and got her.  He then lost her again and put in a report at the shelter that she was lost but she had not been turned in there, yet.  She was later found and turned in to the shelter so the shelter attempted to contact the owner.  The owner never responded so animal control was sent to his house and they found her owner deceased.  Another family member came and got her from the shelter and they gave her to the people that found her the second time.  Those people are not allowed to have pets and their landlord told them they had to get rid of her so they took her back to the shelter.  We cannot make this stuff up?!?!  Two of our ARF volunteers traveled 8 hours round trip to rescue her from that shelter because they do not have a lot of luck adopting out hounds.  Peppermint Patty is a very sweet girl.  She walks well on a leash, does well in her crate, is said to like kids and other dogs and is just an all around beautiful girl :)
