JOANIE's 3 FAVORITE THINGS:
1- A DOG TO PLAY WITH
2- A COMFORTING LAP
3- A 20+ MINUTE WALK

Joanie was left at the "night deposit box" at the Tri County Animal Shelter with a few other hound dogs.  She is VERY sweet, VERY loving, and VERY playful with another, more confident dog.  She's the perfect size, and will curl up in a welcoming lap just fine.

Joanie doesn't have to be placed in a home with another dog, but if she could play with one at a dog park a few times a week, that would be helpful.  It is amazing to see her true self come out when she's romping with another friendly dog.  She is fine around kids.  She has a normal fox hound prey drive, but only shows curiosity to the family cat... as long as it doesn't move.

She walks okay on a leash, in true hound fashion - nose to the ground.  She doesn't bay/bark unless she feel threatened, and is quiet in her crate while alone during the day.  Housebreaking is improving, but she she needs about 15 minutes before her bladder overrules her distracted nose.  She's clean in her crate, and as long as she's supervised in the house (she usually opts to be in the same room with you at all times), accidents are few.

Joanie is a bit on the shy side, but improving every day.
