Velma was found wandering around alone on a local road but would not let anyone near her. A good samaritan talked her into coming to him and he got her in his car. He brought her to ARF as he did not know what else to do with her. She had a microchip but none of her contact info was current and no owner could be reached.
Shortly after going into foster care, Velma fainted after getting excited. She recovered quickly. She also tested positive for heartworms, so this could have been a contributor. She has been treated for heartworms, and has successfully gone through her 6 week quiet recovery period. Fainting "spells" have seemed to stop, and further tests didn't reveal any concern.
Velma is a super sweet girl and has stolen the hearts of all of her foster parents. She is a love bug, likes car rides and does well with other dogs and cats. She would do better in a home without children under 12.
